Earthquake Strengthening

Formwork Designed for Earthquake Strengthening Applications

FormShore supplies design, propping and formwork solutions to assist with earthquake strengthening projects. Our modular heavy duty propping systems can be brought into an existing building and erected by hand to achieve significant propping capacity. Our lightweight formwork panels are also hand assembled to facilitate easy construction of wall thickening and in-situ structural elements.

Our Systems

Formshore supplies the Meva suite of formwork panel systems. FormShore AluFix is ideal for hand assembled formwork with concrete pressures up to 50kN. FormShore StarTec is the steel framed panel for larger pours. FormShore MultiForm is our conventional system accommodating complex forms and high concrete pressures.

FormShore Soldiers and the FormShore 80 ringlock propping system cover requirements for supporting concrete structures during construction.

The Wellington Town Hall

Overview

FormShore worked closely with Geeves Scaffolding to design and supply the propping systems to support the roof trusses and the birdcage scaffolding while the foundations were excavated and poured.

FormShore’s innovative cluster prop solution was the only product on the market that could both be installed by hand and support the significant load of the existing roof.

The Terrace, Wellington

Overview

One of our first AluFix jobs was to supply the formwork panels to thicken the basement walls in a Wellington high rise.

AluFix was the perfect tool for the job as the builders were able to easily carry the lightweight panels down the stairs.

The Plaza, Palmerston North

Overview

FormShore was able to design a solution and then quickly mobilise a significant amount of equipment at very short notice to support the floors of the Plaza Mall in Palmerston North while remedial works were being carried out.

James Smith Carpark, Wellington

Overview

FormShore worked with fellow NZS Group company Wellington Scaffolding to design and supply the shoring system required to support new beams and the demolition equipment used on this project.
